It’s nice to have windows with some sort of versatility and a tilt & turn window offers bundles of it. Depending on how you turn the handle, it will either generate a very generous inward opening or partial inward opening at the top of the design.
This gives you different possibilities for ventilation and makes cleaning the windows from inside the house and on safe ground achievable. Consider fitting A+ rated glass to the design for maximum thermal efficiency and / or the police approved Secured by Design standard.
Our tilt & turn replacement windows open inwards on the bottom hinges and with another turn of the handle, they will open inwards on their side hinges. They are an extremely functional window.

PERSONALISE YOUR WINDOWS
Choosing a window style is your most immediate decision when shopping for replacement tilt & turn windows and then it’s a question of choosing a colour for it, along with some glazing and hardware. We really do let you fully customise them.
If one colour isn’t enough, go for the dual-colour effect…
One single finish is the usual choice for our customers, but you are permitted to have two colours on your windows, one externally and one internally.
White is still the overwhelming favourite finish, however, now that we can produce UPVC windows in practically any colour, people’s tastes have broadened and led to them edging away from white at times. It could be that Chartwell Green or Irish Oak is the finish you fancy.
Glass with style that offers an element of privacy...
All of the collective ingredients in a window, the glass has to rank as one of the most important of them. Keep that in your mind when you are picking the glazing for your new tilt and turn windows. A clear glass may be enough for your circumstances or you want may want to choose a privacy glass so that people on the outside can’t properly see into your living space. Ask a TWC advisor for their opinion on glass, should you need it.
Beautifully crafted handles…
We don’t believe that anyone has craftspeople quite as talented as those we have at TWC. Our traditional and contemporary handles provide evidence of that and you will instinctively want to touch them.
These handles also pull their weight from a security perspective as their locking system is what keeps the windows so secure.

Tilt & turn windows are always a popular choice thanks to their versatility and style. To help you decide if this replacement window style is right for you we’ve answered some of the most commonly asked questions we get about tilt & turn windows below. What makes tilt and turn windows so popular?
Tilt and turn windows are well-liked by homeowners in Wiltshire & Oxfordshire.
The versatility and innovative functionality of tilt and turn windows are behind the fervent popularity of this highly original window style. In a sharp contrast to the classic casement window, opened on a single hinge, tilt and turn windows are operable as their name suggests, with a tilt and a turn.
This opening method enables the partial opening of the window to ventilate your rooms, without security being compromised, and you can also have a total opening to simplify window maintenance and entice maximum air flow indoors.
You can also point towards the exceptionally high volume of energy efficiency and security offered by a tilt and turn window as reasons for its warm acceptance amongst householders. Obtain a copy of our window brochure for further detail about TWC’s tilt and turn range or chat about it with an advisor from the team.
How do you open a tilt and turn window?
A tilt and turn window has the simplest and cleverest of openings.
Easy openings are a shared trait of all TWC’s window styles and our tilt and turn design is no exception to that, with its unfussy and intelligent opening.
Just a slight turn of the handle causes the window to tilt inwards and if you want to increase the opening, turn the handle some more until it reaches its end point. It couldn’t be any simpler!
In either of our showrooms, you can experience how a tilt and turn window works with your own hands and eyes, alternatively, let an advisor give you a demonstration of them. Don’t stop at just testing our tilt and windows. Give the many other showcased designs a try too.
Can you still use blinds with tilt and turn windows?
Most forms of blinds are compatible with TWC’s tilt and turn windows.
Tilt and turn windows are so attractive to look at, but you may understandably want to enhance their appearance some more with a set of blinds.
Almost every type of blind, shade or curtain will work nicely with their design, so you can use them to add a splash of colour and such. But before you commit to any window covering, you must take into consideration how much space there is around the windows so that it can be kept out of the way when you wish to open and close the design.
We advocate the use of bottom-up and top-down blinds as they will keep the windows clear of any obstructions whenever you want to open them. Vertical blinds are also capable of being moved out of the way to the side when not drawn so that the window opening is not interfered with.
How secure are tilt & turn windows?
Security is assured when you purchase TWC’s tilt and turn windows – they’re a safe bet.
TWC’s tilt and turn window designs have security built into them, with multiple resilient components and a robust frame to help keep you safe inside your space from the instant they’re fitted.
The hinges affixed to the windows are hard-wearing and there is multi cam technology to stop the forcing open of their design. Worries about security can be allayed and this applies to when the tilt function of the window is availed of on those days when you want fresh air to filter its way indoors for ventilation reasons.
It wouldn’t be much good having a tilt and turn window that totally looks the part but fails in the crucial area of protecting your home. A detailed understanding of each of the secure features in a tilt and turn window will be provided to you by an advisor during any showroom visit or design appointment.
