Love is in the air, or at least it should be if you’re a true romantic at heart and have a wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend or significant other you can spoil, as Valentine’s Day is just a few days away.
What do you have lined up for your loved one? A mini-getaway? A home-made meal? A proposal perhaps? Demonstrating some sign of affection will likely be appreciated and hopefully be reciprocated.
If you love home living almost as much as you love your partner, make sure that your strong, fond feelings for home are always visible through your windows and doors. People that see them will then love your home too.
A little bit of time, money and TLC is all you need to do it…
Install a red composite door
Red is the colour we most associate with love and Valentine’s Day. Greeting guests with a bright, bold, red coloured composite door at your entrance will show to visitors that you absolutely ‘a-door’ where you live.
The red finish will never fade away from a composite door, so it won’t need repainting in the future. Just an occasional wipe with a wet cloth is all that will be required to get it gleaming again. There’s no chance of it going unnoticed that’s for sure.
Create a window display
A plain-old window can be transformed into a striking feature window when you add a window display to your window sill.
Buy a small window box that you can use to grow a little herb garden full of herbs, thyme, rosemary etc. or a bigger box that’s exposed to the sun for growing fruit and other types of herbs. Just remember to keep them watered.
Clean your windows
It seems like such a simple suggestion, but it’s something that’s often overlooked by homeowners.
Begin by removing any dust or cobwebs that have built up in the corners with a dust pan brush and then wash the window with a sponge doused in hot, soapy water containing washing up liquid. Use a squeegee to wipe away the water/dirt from the window. The glass should be sparkling if you’ve cleaned the window properly and the cleaner it is, the lighter and brighter the inside of your home will feel.
