Various home trends have already emerged and even at this early stage the installation of bi-folding doors looks set to be one of the biggest. To make the right choice, you always need to understand the main benefits of bifold doors.
Also known as folding sliding doors, bi-folding doors are a real sight to behold and not just because of how elegant they look. You will be left agog when you see them in action for the first time as unlike a patio, French or single door, the door leafs fold like a concertina when you push the door open until they reach their finished position at the end of the track.
The integration of a bi-fold door can take place in a suitable aperture within a conservatory, orangery or available wall space elsewhere in the house.
Why are people so big on bi-folds when considering replacement doors? There are a number of possible explanations…
Doors for Stylish Garden Access
We had a fabulous summer last year, one of our hottest ever, and there must be optimism that this summer will be equally warm as lots of people are using bi-folding doors to establish stylish connections to their outdoor spaces (gardens, patios) up and down the land.
They can generate a massive opening and you can just imagine the reaction of guests when they’re nonchalantly folded open to lead them out into the garden in readiness for a few outdoor drinks or al fresco dining.
Optimal Space Utilization
You can customise a bi-folding door to your own requirements. If you only have a limited amount of space in your extension or home to accommodate a set of bi-folding doors, you can have as few as 2 panes included. If you’re in the fortunate position of having a wide span of wall space to house some bi-folds, we can supply them up to 7 panes wide.
You can also stipulate whether the door leafs open inwardly or outwardly. Outwardly is your best option if you want to maximise space indoors.
Elegant Look, Excellent View
Bi-folding doors are manufactured from aluminium and the beauty of using aluminium is that it’s easily shaped, enabling very slender sightlines to be created. This results in glass occupying the vast majority of the design, affording you amazing transparency and the most wonderfully unobstructed views of the outdoors.
When the weather turns nasty, you can at least still have a stunning perspective of your outdoor environment to immerse yourself in.
