Talk about putting other homes in the neighbourhood completely in the shade! That’s what has happened since we switched the old windows here to brand new cream coloured UPVC windows with leaded detailing. We formulated the cream colour by mixing together brown and white and what a dramatic impact it has had, turning what had become a tired looking property into a place bursting with vibrancy. We doubt they would have created such a big impact if we hadn’t added the leading as they establish window character.
The leading plays a major part in holding the individual sections of glass together and you can see on the inside of each window there is a sophisticated handle, shaped like the handles found on traditional leaded windows. Once you have a grip on these handles and they’re unlocked, they enable the window to be pushed open with such ease, a bit like the newly installed French doors.
Integrated into a compact aperture, they supply a beautiful route outside so that the occupiers can lose themselves in the almost maze-like front garden. Somehow, the foliage growing around the leaded windows adds further personality to the property and makes it a truly captivating household.
