Believe it or not, the windows and door we fitted for this project are not crafted from timber – UPVC is far more reliable.
The Golden Oak finish fools you into thinking that these are traditional windows and a wood-crafted door, but that is not the case. They’re actually UPVC windows and a composite door. It’s impossible to deny the initial beauty of wooden windows and doors, but that beauty very quickly disappears, whereas the beauty of UPVC and the composite material endures the passage of time. The occupiers won’t even have to go to the effort of maintaining their windows and doors as both materials are weather-resistant and low maintenance. All it takes to keep your golden oak UPVC windows and doors looking their best is a regular window cleaning routine, no special treatments needed which is a vast improvement compared to the work needed to look after traditional timber windows.
The prominence of the new windows is aided by the leaded effect incorporated into each of them. They all have a gold-plated handle to easily achieve window operation and keep them fixed shut when necessary. It would not have made sense to keep the existing door while replacing the windows as the old door was providing nowhere near the standard of security that the composite door now delivers. This new door has also eliminated heat loss in the hallway, so no more draughtiness occurs. Timber just has absolutely no chance of competing against UPVC and our composite material in just about every respect, that’s why we advocate their use to every local householder.
